Research Ambassadors

Connecting individuals with lived experience of sudden cardiac arrest to research opportunities

Do you have lived experience of sudden cardiac arrest?

Are you willing to help inform research into sudden cardiac arrest?

If so, then you might consider joining “Research ambassadors” our new initiative to connect people with lived experience of sudden cardiac arrest to research opportunities.

Involving people with lived experience in research project planning and development is a really important part of medical research. It ensures the perspective of the people the research is intended to help are heard.

We're keen to connect with people who are cardiac arrest survivors and also friends and family of those who have suffered a cardiac arrest, including those who are bereaved.

What's involved?

The research opportunities, as a part of this program, will be varied and require different time commitments. Some examples include:

  • Reviewing a new website and providing feedback

  • Reading a document to make sure the language is clear

  • Being involved in an hour-long focus group

  • Telling your story to the media

We understand some people are more comfortable with certain activities over others. You only need to participate in the activities you feel comfortable with.

Details of the research opportunities will be provided to the 'research ambassadors' and you can then opt in to the activities you are interested in.

We do not expect members to be involved in every opportunity. We may also only need a certain amount of people to be involved for each opportunity and therefore signing up may not guarantee you we will be asked to participate.
